SUMMARY:Riga workshop
DESCRIPTION:On May 8, the Riga City Council City Development Department will organize an educational workshop for 89th Secondary school’s 8th grade class on the implementation of nature-based solutions to mitigate climate change risks and promote climate resilience. This workshop will take place within the framework of the Riga Urban Greening Plan 2027-2031.\nDuring the workshop, it is foreseen to educate students on the issues of climate change, biodiversity and ecosystem services, and the role of nature-based solutions in addressing various challenges. During the workshop, students will map the school surroundings and various challenges (heat, water accumulation, rainwater drainage) and how these challenges can be solved with nature-based solutions. Students will work in groups and develop concrete solutions for the school area. At the end of the workshop, experts will provide feedback to students on the proposed solutions.\n
