Seminar “Heat Risk Challenges and Solutions in the Urban Environment”
On October 16, two important events dedicated to landscape quality and urban adaptation to climate change will take place at Koka Rīga, Krāsotāju iela 12.
The seminar “Heat Risk Challenges and Solutions in the Urban Environment” will take place over two days – on October 16, environmental and urban planning experts will share the latest research, data, and practical solutions for reducing heat waves in the urban environment, while on October 17, a walking tour will showcase nature-based solutions for heat risk prevention in the center of Riga.
In the afternoon of October 16, the closing event of the 9th session of the European Council’s Landscape Award national selection will take place, where eight projects from Latvian municipalities and organizations will be presented, which are competing for the opportunity to represent Latvia in the international competition. At the end of the event, the winner of the national selection will be announced, who will continue to participate at the European level.
The event is organized by the Ministry of Smart Administration and Regional Development in cooperation with partners in the environmental and landscape sector.
